Juggalos and Religion (Pt. 2 of 2)

"In 200 years there will be more Juggalos than Jews, you wait and see. They'll be like Mormons, and their incomprehensible Gospel will win converts among the young and dispossessed."
- js (honestengine)
Today we continue our exploration, from last time, into juggalos and religion.

"We specialize in custom "Juggalo style" weddings, baptisms, commitment ceremonies, baby naming ceremonies, Dark Carnival blessings, and funerals. We now have two Juggalo Ministers in our force, ready to take on anything asked of us."
- United Juggalo Fellowship
JuggaloFaith.com was created for the sole purpose of teaching the message of the carnival. We believe this message is the message of the gospels of Jesus Christ . . .

Violent J has Jesus tattooed on his inner right forearm, look it up if you don't believe me . . .

. . . If you want to follow satan and lose your soul, go for it, that's your right, but I can guarantee you that the guys from Psychopathic Records believe in God and follow him . . .

. . . These guys know about our site, We won a Hell's Pit promotional contest back in '04. We won 10 tickets to Hallowicked. They have had nothing bad to say to us yet.

So email them and ask if they worship Satan and see if they say yes . . .

. . . JuggaloFaith.com does not endorse or support any type of violent or Illegal behavior, we do not support any kind of violence, we are a Christian ministry; we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and believe he would not approve of harming anyone for any reason, including their sexual orientation....

If you want counseling on how to except Jesus by saying the sinner's prayer, email us at Juggalofamily@Juggalofaith.com with "I want to be saved" in the message line and we will talk you through it.

Remember nothing is too big for God to forgive and if you truly mean it in your heart he will forgive you for your sins and you will be saved.

God bless and Keep your Hatchets High Ninjas!
- Rev.B-Lotus

Listen to the lyrics in the video above. To me, it sounds like ICP, Twiztid, Esham and ABK (Anybody Killa) are directly addressing their cult status, spiritual leadership, and how it relates to contemporary society. Of all the Psychopathic Records music that I've perused so far this song is definitely one of the most interesting ones for me. Plus the video is super neat. And check out ABK's sweet lisp!

In a private e-mail conversation I had with Dustin De Rosier (of the mesmerizing and hilarious Juggalog) we briefly discussed juggalos and religion. Dustin remarked that after spending over two months on the road with ICP...
I finally came to the conclusion that ICP doesn't believe in god, ICP believe that they are god.
Hinteresting! I will be focusing on Dustin and the Juggalog in depth in my next post.

Juggalos and Religion (Pt. 1 of 2)

It appears that juggalo culture has permeated just about everywhere. Over the next weeks we'll show you just how far reaching it is. But from my internet perusals I've found one overwhelmingly juggalo-saturated area in particular: religion.

Oh, by the way, I am proud to say that I made the above image, which I dub "Jesus 2 Dope".

I found this quoted on a message board:
10:15–10:30 am

What Is a Juggalo: A Function Alternative to Religion

Ashley R. Davis (Mark Rubinfeld),
Westminster College

Oral Session A3, Converse B18

This senior thesis discusses the identity and faith of Juggalos, who are the followers of a
band called Insane Clown Posse. Providing an overview of Insane Clown Posse, I will look
at how a Juggalo’s way of life and belief system has many similarities to that of alternative
religions through their community bond. I intend to discuss the phenomenon of the
Juggalo in order to educate readers about the life of a Juggalo, the community that is
created by them, and to discuss the importance of this particular group of contemporary
youth and the social movement they have created for themselves. This will entail looking
at theories of Gemeinschaft, Sense of Community theory, and alternative religions. To
collect the information, I will be combining ethnographic research and secondary analysis.
What I expect to find is a relationship between Juggalo identity and faith as it pertains to
their sense of community and how it could be argued that they have formed their own
alternative religion. Finally, I anticipate explaining why the Juggalo community shouldn’t
be referenced in a negative way.
I would be curious to see evidence of juggalos of Muslim, Buddhist or other faiths but I haven't found much so far. I did find this on a message board:
Me and my bud . . . have this vision of the Carnival. I'm a Christian so i can relate the Carnival to Christianity . . . He's not a Christian. His religous views are the Carnival. He believes in God . . . then you have Muslim Juggalos, they can relate the Dark Carnival faith to the Islamic faith, and ironically, worship the same God as Christians and Jews because they all link back to the God of Abraham in each religion. different ways to worship the same God outside the Carnival.
And this next quote is from a woman who identifies as a Romanian Gypsy juggalo.
My Clan believes in a realm known as the nomadic bizarre. This belief dates back to times of Christ. The belief in the nomadic bizarre: In between Shangri-La and The Netherviod , there exists many other realms. Some being good and light, some being dark or wicked. In between those other realms in a travailing freak show or nomadic bizarre. This bizarre is a collaboration of dead souls who travel the realms to bring only what you have brought apon yourself. (( This is all because of you!)) The souls selected are of people who never fit in with regular society, therefore in death they find completion within a family of freaks. A place where all are excepted and welcome to the bizarre travailing show. What juggalo’s believe is very similar to this Armenia belief. So similar I can find little to contradict said statement in comparison.
You can read a first-hand account of Violent J's Dark Carnival mythology (which he claims to have came upon in a dream) in his autobiography, ICP: Behind The Paint, and also on the ICP web site, here.

Jeez, this keeps getting deeper... Juggalos and Religion to be continued next time.
